Will my immediate dentures fit right away?

Why do they get loose after a while?
As your gums heal, they shrink, which leaves space under the denture. A reline fills that space so the denture fits snugly again.
Does it hurt?
Your mouth is fully numb for the extractions. Afterward, soreness is usually managed with the medication Dr. Salem recommends, and it eases over the first several days.
Do I sleep in them?
Dr. Salem will give you instructions for the first night. After the first day, most patients take their dentures out at night to rest their gums.
What can I eat?
Start with soft foods such as soup, eggs, yogurt, and mashed potatoes. Add firmer foods slowly as your gums heal and you get used to chewing.
Will I need a second set of dentures?
Many patients keep their immediate dentures after a reline. Others choose a new set once healing is complete. Dr. Salem will tell you which makes sense for you.
What if I’m only losing some of my teeth?
A partial denture may be a better fit, and it can also be planned ahead so you don’t leave with a gap.
